Lisbon–Porto for €7.50: CP puts 7,000 Alfa Pendular tickets on sale at up to 80% off

Portugal’s national railway operator CP started a ticket sale for Alfa Pendular high-speed trains on September 29. The trains run along the Braga–Porto–Coimbra–Lisbon–Faro route, and the discounted fares are valid for travel from October 8 to 28. There are 7,000 promotional seats available in total.

The lowest fares in Turística class are:

Lisbon–Coimbra and Lisbon–Faro — from €5.50;
Lisbon–Aveiro — from €6.50;
Lisbon–Porto — from €7.50, instead of the regular €35.70;
Lisbon–Braga — from €8;
Porto–Faro — from €12.50.

In Conforto class, Lisbon–Porto tickets start at €10. The promotion applies to all routes and every day of the week.

There is one important catch: tickets must be purchased at least 10 days before the journey. According to CP, the earlier you book, the bigger the discount. So if you want to travel on October 28, you need to buy your ticket by October 18. Officially, the sale runs until October 19, but tickets may sell out sooner.

The number of promotional seats is limited on each train. Once they are gone, only regular fares will be available.
